Experience the New Dodge Charger Daytona EV

This year, the Dodge Charger has no gas-powered model. Instead, the Charger Daytona takes center stage and is a fully electric muscle car. As the first of its kind, the Charger Daytona is designed from the ground up to offer more than the regular Charger ever did. This includes having the option between a two- and four-door model and stronger powertrains. The Charger Daytona is a delightful entry into the EV market, and if you wish to learn more about it, continue reading or visit Max Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram Clinton.

What’s New?

Most everything is new for the new Charger Daytona as this is technically the second time this model has been on the market. First released in 2018, the Charger Daytona was exclusively a two-door model. This overhauled vehicle is now available with new tech, a four-door model, and many new features.

Design

The style of the Charger Daytona takes cues from early Charger models - as such, the EV looks similar to the Challenger. Step inside, and you'll find an equally pleasing cabin that echoes the style and feel of the old-school Charger design with some modern upgrades. A 12.3-inch infotainment display and 10.3- instrument cluster are standard. Plus, there's a redesigned "pistol grip" shifter, a start/power button, and a wireless phone charger.

The cargo area has also been expanded. According to Dodge, there's about 133 percent more room than the outgoing Charger. With the seats up, the trunk has 23 cubic feet, but with the seats down, the area expands to 38.5 cubic feet. And with no engine, the front has been converted to a storage area with 1.5 cubic feet of space.

Performance

Every Daytona model is powered by the same setup - two electric motors with a 400-volt architecture and a 100.5 kW nickel cobalt aluminum battery. This setup allows the Charger Daytona to have all-wheel drive and output 456 horsepower in the base R/T model and 630 hp in the Scat Pack trim.

Charging & Range

The EPA has yet to release official numbers on the Daytona range. Still, Dodge's preliminary estimates say the Daytona R/T has about 317 miles, while the Scat Pack has about 260 miles. Dodge also says the Charger Daytona can be recharged from 20 to 80 percent in just over 27 minutes when hooked to a Level 3 DC CCS fast charger.

Technology

The Charger Daytona provides Warrensburg and Warsaw drivers with plenty of tech throughout its cabin. A 12.3-inch touchscreen is standard running on the Uconnect 5 system. The infotainment display controls the model's satellite radio, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto integration, Amazon Alexa, and navigation. Also available is a head-up display and a nine-speaker Alpine stereo. Though a premium 18-speaker stereo is optional.

Safety

A comprehensive list of standard and optional safety features is offered in the new Charger Daytona. Forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and lane-keeping assist are all standard. A new system called "vulnerable road users' detection" also helps Sedalia and Lake of the Ozarks drivers detect pedestrians and bicyclists.
